  • You guys are fucking stupid asses.

  • “The fruit of the Spirit are these:
    Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness,
Goodness, Faithfulness, gentleness, and self control.”
    [ Galatians 5: 22-23 ]

“It’s quiet.  It’s early.  My coffee is hot.  The sky is still black.  The world is still asleep.  The day is coming.

In a few moments the day will arrive.  It will roar down the track with the rising of the sun.  The stillness of the dawn will be exchanged for the noise of the day.  The calm of solitude will be replaced by the pounding pace of the human race.  The refuge of the early morning will be invaded by decisions to be made and deadlines to be met.
For the next twelve hours I will be exposed to the day’s demands.  It is now that I must make a choice.  Because of Calvary, I’m free to choose.  And so I choose.
         I choose love
No occasion justifies hatred; no injustice warrants bitterness.  I choose love.  Today I will love God and what God loves.
         I choose joy
I will invite my God to be the God of circumstance.  I will refuse the temptation to be cynical…the tool of the lazy thinker.  I will refuse to see peeople as anything less than human beings, created by God.  I will refuse to see any problem as anything less than an opportunity to see God.
         I choose peace
I will live forgiven.  I will forgive so that I may live.
         I choose patience
I will overelook the inconveniences of the world.  Instead of cursing the one who takes my place, I’ll invite him to do so.  Rather than complain that the wait is too long, I will thank God for a moment to pray.  Instead of clinching my fist at new assignments, I will face them with joy and courage.
         I choose kindness
I will be kind to the poor, for they are alone.  Kind to the rich, for they are afraid.  And kind to the unkind, for such is how God has treated me.
         I choose goodness
I will go without a dollar before I take a dishonest one.  I will be overlooked before I will boast.  I will confess before I will accuse.  I choose goodness.
         I choose faithfulness
Today I will keep my promises.  My debtors will not regret their trust.  My associates will not question my word.  My wife will not question my love.  And my children will never fear that their father will not come home.
         I choose gentleness
Nothing is won by force.  I choose to be gentle.  If I raise my voice may it be only in praise.  If I clench my fist, may it be only in prayer.  If I make a demand, may it be only of myself.
         I choose self-control
I am a spiritual being.  After this body is dead, my spirit will soar.
I refuse to let what will rot, rule the eternal.  I choose self-control.
I will be drunk only by joy.  I will be impassioned only by my faith.
I will be influenced only by God.  I will be taught only by Christ.
    I choose self-control.
To these I commit my day.  If I succeed, I will give thanks.  If I fail, I will seek his grace.  And then, when this day is done, I will place my head on my pillow and rest.”
FROM: Max Lucado “When God Whispers Your Name”

  • It’s getting sooo bad out there…they’re making it alluring for kids…smoke and other drugs too are being designed like candy or colored…it’s sad!

  • OK guys, I really appreciate what you’re trying to do, but by reading the feedback it’s time for a different approach.

Take a hint from the Aussies and some of their ads for their Quitline. Ads like:

“Every Cigarette Is Doing You Damage.” That line of ads is probably one of the most effective.

My personal favorite is putting pictures of diseased lungs, oral cancers, gangrene, etc. directly on cigarette packs to scare the hell out of smokers. That’s had a positive response in Australia as well.

You also need to hit on people’s emotions. Use people who have been diagnosed with lung cancer. Family and friends of those who died from smoking related illnesses and hear their personal stories. Humor isn’t cutting it anymore. You need to make them depressed. Don’t be scared of making people cry, often times that’s the best way to get your message across.

Just some suggestions, take it or leave it.

  • I mean its not only bad for the smokers it worse for people around because second hand smoke does more damage than direct smoke so its just plain terrible for some people that I know that asthma.

  • so, it’s a lot easier to villanize tobacco companies than it is to villanize the system in which the tobacco companies, as with all other companies, partake in. they’re in it for the profit and it’s silly to make them out to be the lone bad guy. it’s our choices as consumers that really matter; cigarette company hating doesn’t really accomplish anything. people don’t smoke because they’re tricked into it, people know it’s harmful; there is no deception present, not in this decade anyway.

    this is fucking stupid.

  • Cigarette advertisement is no different from any other advertisement, and the only reason to go after them is because you’re anti-smoking. Pretending to be anti-manipulation is just idiotic. Might as well take beer companies to task; their ads are far more alluring and subversive for a product that can lead to just as many problems.

  • so please explain to me why you need to use a gramatically incorrect, offensive slogan to sell the idea of being drug- free to people?

    Julie

  • um, I think you guys are really missing the point here. Do you honestly think that we smokers don’t know that cigarettes are bad? do you think we go around thinking that they have vitamins in them? get a real job. if you want to fight a fucking cause, fight one that someone gives a shit about. but no, instead, you choose to engage in a completely useless propaganda campaign against a powerhouse corporation that couldn’t give two shits about what you do, because WE will still smoke the cigarrettes. so what the fucks up with that?

  • When i signed into xanga, i saw the feature profile was whudafxup? = truth … the truth about tobacco … The truth about truth is its reverse advertising ..it was created by the tobacco industry. As soon as tobacco advertising was given the boot truth popped up out of nowhere saying how bad it is, at the same pushing smoking in our face ..never letting us forget … its a ban loop hole .. they are no better and with a web site name like whudafxup they are almost no better by forcing me to think that negativity.

  • Tobacco kills

  • i love these movies.

  • assholes like these remind me of how much i fucking enjoy smoking.

  • no wonder those adults were keeping away from him,
    he’s freaking creepy looking.
and the “they like me. yaaaay.” just adds to the creepy-ness.

  • haha i like this commercial

  • Um, and what is this purple guy trying to prove?
    I don’t understand it.
Of course fucking children would love a purple dress up thing because they would think it was like some disney thing.
But when I first watched it, the kids were afraid of it until someone told them to play with this… creature.

Anyways, let people choose their own choices.
    This is obviously not helping.

Plus, if tobacco company can’t advertize themself, you can not advertize against it.

  • OMG  this commercial is fruity.Lol.It’s sooo funny.

  • The thing that scares me is that my brother liked that character…. hell, so did I at first!
