  • definitely to lie about it!

    lying just makes things worse.

  • actually, lying is not just worse, it’s the worst thing to do to someone who trusts you!

  • It is worse to lie about it. There is nothing wrong with doing a wrong, as long as one can learn from the action. To do a wrong then lie about it, is premeditated.. and therefore places the action on a whole different level.

  • Lying, because then you’ve already done something wrong.

    Smoking’s lameee.

  • I really don’t think you consider your beloved “Coke Zero” to be “wrong” putting Aspartame, a constituent of all diet drinks in it’s ingredients.

So therefore you claiming Coke Zero is “not a diet drink” would mean you’re lying.

So you tell me which is worse.

  • lie because then you don’t acknowledge and accept your mistake so you can’t prevent it from happening again.

  • To lie about it is worse.

  • First it probably depends on the nature of the crime and the context under which it is committed. If a hungry man steals an gets caught but denies he did it his motivations were to attain food and in that case the greater wrong was to lye about it. The wrong was more done to himself however because he was caught which made it pointless to deny it in the first place. It is a reaction to fear a baser human instinct.

If the same man however premeditates ahead of time to do harm to another as in cold blooded murder. Then the crime outweighs the act itself because of the intention behind the crime.

In the case of accidents that are considered wrongs to another person then I would have to go with lying about it.

(PS I have to give props to the cigarette companies for practicing in population control. In the end it is a personal choice and those that make it should live with the consequences of their actions. Medical care related directly to smoking should be denied to those who started smoking after Surgeon General Warnings were placed on the cigarette packs. Because then it is the same as not wearing your seat belt, it’s a choice. But then again I also believe except for small children people should be allowed to gamble with their lives and make their incorrect choices as long as they are full aware of the consequences and the only one harmed is themselves. )

  • my best friends came to my house on halloween and while i was down the street at a bock party they smoked weed at my house.

worst part was we came a back worried and looking for them

i would not have been so upset about it if they had just said hey we’re gonna smoke
but i found out two days ago

these drugs are pissing me off

    Lying is worse

  • Lying is worse. Everyone can learn from mistakes. If you lie about your mistakes, well, that’s just implying that
    1) you haven’t learned anything,
    2) you’re a loser who can’t face reality.

  • Lying… you could do something wrong, and it could all be an accident (unintentional). But if you lie about it, then you’ll never learn from your mistake.

  • Lying is to do another thing wrong!!

  • I’m actually addicted. but i support your fight. I totally support your fight. It was my stupid fault to get addicted in the first place.

  • Good job, boys. Next you can take on big government. I think smoking is a sign of weakness.

  • Hahah WELL HELL i think everyone has their weakness, man.

  • doing something wrong is definitely worse than lying about it. jeez.

    lying is just lying.
    doing is doing.

i mean let’s say somebody killed somebody and then said they didn’t. is it more wrong that they killed somebody or said they didn’t?

    C’MON PEOPLE. :P

  • Well…. it depends on what you did wrong really doesn’t it.

Maybe this double edged sword is like pouring lemon on a paper cut…. somethings are TERRIBLE to do wrong, but lying about it is rubbing salt into the wound.

Like kicking someone when they are down…

Big believer in taking responsibility for my actions….

  • well. Haven’t comments…

  • To do something wrong.

If you didn’t do anything wrong, you wouldn’t have a reason to lie in the first place.

  • smoking is a choice.  We might as well get onto McDonalds for making people fat or VISA for making commericals that have driven most americans into debt and despair.

These tobacco companies aren’t forcing anybody to smoke.  I’ve got a new catch phrase for your commericials:

“truth.  Did you know that 100 out of 100 people who smoke did so voluntarily?  Recent research into the habits of smokers and non-smokers have shown that on a day to day basis, every participant in the study was presented with choices, such as spending money on fast food or going to class, etc.  Suprisingly, the results show that smoking, and in particular tobacco companies and their marketing tools, registered as just another option for the day.  This would suggest, contrary to public belief, that no matter how brilliantly these tobacco companies market their product, it still comes down to the individual and his/her personal choice as to smoke or not smoke.”

Come on guys.  Follow where this goes.  If you punish a company for supplying a demand that is harmful to the general public, that means we have to stop driving b/c their are people who drive without seatbelts, we have to stop eating fast food because that contributes to obesity and heart disease, we have to prohibit the production and sale of alcohol because it contributes to bad livers and bad home life…see what I mean?

Philip Morris is no more ‘bad’ or ‘good’ than Nike.  Did you know that Nike uses foreign labor to produce their product, and the conditions that they operate in those foreign countries can best be described as “less than optimal”?

If you want to get mad and try to change something, why don’t you focus on the kids making the choices, and not the companies who are simply giving the public what it wants?

  • Welll tobacco companies such as PhilMo have done both so what is the difference? They have assisted in killing millions of people for the sake of profit, attempted to lie about it and thus are called out on it. After all that is certainly why this blog is here.

  • Both.

    People suck like that =]

  • to lie.

  • ok thanks for spelling out the reasons not to smoke in CRAYON for me, now fix the fucking problem that will not let me sign in without raising your site. it’s fucking rude, assholes.

  • It’s even worse to lie about something you did wrong. :P

  • To lie about it without a doubt. To do something wrong is to like make a mistake in which you can learn from it to not do it again. But to lie? It’s irreversible even after you tell the truth.

  • And if this is successful, then where will they next legislate, regulate, eliminate our morality. Rather than ban, rather than denigrate, rather than complain why aren’t we making in clear that to engage in acts is an acceptance of responibility. If you pick up a gun, you know you’re capable of killing. If you pick up a Big Mac, you know you’re ass is going to get bigger. If you pick up a cigarette and get cancer and was born after that little label, don’t expect the nation to foot the bill. But if you’ve got the money, energy, will, appropriate health coverage… knock yourself out. We’ve already made it so you are avoiding the smoke as much (or more than) is fair.

I am tired of people PRESUMING TO BE SMARTER THAN ME, telling me what I should and shouldn’t do. But we don’t teach, we don’t earn, we are not rewarded for responsibility.

  • Is lying then not something wrong?

  • Depends on what it is

Lying is wrong (whether you are have to lie a bit to surprise someone,  that someone could not come to your party and their could come but want to do something extra special.

    Killing someone is wrong.

  • blah blah blah blah blah.. you put this shit out there.. “OH NOOOO DON’T SMOKE.. IF YOU SMOKE YOU’RE WEAK, YOU SUUUCK” and you’re sponsored by the same people who say “OOOOH SMOKE..THESE CIGARETTES ARE AWEEESOME” man whatever.. shut up already!

  • oh and like someone else said… if you don’t do anything wrong theres nothing to lie about..

  • With tobacco, neither, since people are MAKING A CHOICE to do those things.

  • Lying is doing something wrong

  • To God (of Israel’s Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob) be all the glory!  John 3:30
    1.  And he said to them all, If any man will come after me (Jesus Christ), let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. Luke 9:23 (KJV)

    2.  I tell you, Nay: but, except ye REPENT [turn away from your sins], ye shall all likewise perish.Luke 13:3 (KJV)

    3.  And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life. Revelation 21:27 (KJV)

    4.  The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity (sinners). Psalm 5:5

And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.  Acts 2:38 (KJV)
If you die in your sin, you will go to HELL!  Today is the day of salvation!  Accept Jesus Christ for He is your only hope!
(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.) 2 Corinthians 6:2 (KJV)
Christ was beaten & crucified, shed blood blood, died and ROSE again to save u from your defiling and abominable sins (lust, pride, pre-marital sex, one lie, masturbation, sodomy including homosexuality, murder, hatred, rebellion, disobedience against parents, pre-marital touching & kissing)!

  • white lies dont hurt!

esp when you have alr done sth wrong.

  • Perhaps it is both, so where does that leave YOU?

In the shadows, where all cowards run when they won’t address the opposition, mayhaps exposure, of their own conceits.

Or, perhaps like Shakespeare’s adage that all is well that ends well, you feel justified in tweaking a statistic here and there to get your self-righteous point across.
