  • I’ve always wanted to start a log blog…

  • I used to like truth… what happened?

  • If this is your way of getting people to think twice about smoking, it’s quite a sad attempt.

  • Wait.. what?!? I’m anti smoking.. but I don”t understand this. LOL. Perhaps I’m not intelligent enough but how is this related to smoking?

  • Umm… eww.

  • And this relates to smoking how?

  • cartoon poop is funny.
ammonia is found in poop. it’s also in cigarettes.
    not funny.
this is a shitty (hahahaaaaaaa) anti smoking advertisement.

  • Yay! I finally have a justification for pooping into an envelope and sending it to your corporate headquarters! Thanks, Truth, for confirming that my idea that dates back at least a year is a damn good one. Two props for you, just because your idiocy benefits me somehow!

  • So, what did Vitamin_D have to say that would lead you to delete his/her comment, that Truth’s head advertiser smokes three packs a day?

  • What does feces have to do with anything?

  • WTF?

Funny thing is, I’m smoking a cigarette right now. But I get the “Magical Amount” idea. I need to quit.

Those losers don’t know what they’re talking about.

  • it’s amazing how determined Truth is t0 advocate about something virtually everyone knows. Yes, cigarettes kill. Yes, we are nothing but little pawns to those pesky cigarette companies. No matter what witty little way you try to get the point across- you got the point across. Congrats.

I think all this positive energy, passion and money should go to something that does need more exposure to the public. Like, oh I don’t know… child labor.

  • Wow, I’m shocked by all the negativity on this blog, but I am glad that The Truth has not censored any of it.

Liarr, if people know that cigarettes skill and that we are “nothing but little pawns to those pesky cigarette companies” then why do people still smoke and support these companies?

You are right. It takes much more than mere knowledge that smoking is harmful to one’s health. I’d suggest taking a look at the following article, http://www.joe.org/joe/2002december/a7.shtml

According to the article, for a health-promoting behavior to be successfully adopted, a person pass through four stages.

    1. They must know that the impact of their harmful behavior is severe.

    2. They must know that they are susceptible to this harm.

    3. They must be capable of making the change in their behavior.

    4. They must believe that the particular recommended remedy will work for them.

I sense that The Truth campaign targets more the company. The tobacco industry has A LOT of money, and it will take a strong force to bring them down.

There’s a great book called The Question of Intent that may interest y’all about the tobacco industry. It’s written by a former FDA Commissioner, David Kessler. He tried to prove that the tobacco industry held “intent” for nicotine to become addictive and thus could be regulated as a drug under FDA guidelines, but politically it failed even though spent a lot of effort uncovering evidence.

I was hoping to find people as radically anti-smoking as I am on this forum, but unfortunately I was disappointed in that respect.

Perhaps we can at least have some constructive dialogue on the issue.

    Thanks!
